I truly feel like finding balance is the hardest part of life. How do we balance all the things we have going on? How do we find the time? Make the time? Give the time? How can we possibly balance all the aspects of our busy lives?
Well, we can’t. We truly cannot give equal time to everything that we do, so we prioritize. We set goals of what’s most important in our lives and go from there. We develop a hierarchy of balance and sometimes that shifts and rearranged and we adjust. But adjusting isn’t always easy. It’s right along side of balance because we innately as humans don’t always adjust well to change. We can welcome it and sometimes even expect it, but it takes time to adapt to it.
I had a hard time finding balance in my life. I tended to put my focus on the things I thought were important. I was selfish and I was stubborn. While I’m an excellent multi-tasker, I never found time to balance. It wasn’t until later in life I got my priorities into check and was able to breathe more sighs of relief than those of panic and stress.
Now, I’m on a new journey of balance…the balance of work, marriage and motherhood. So far, it’s been extremely challenging, but I reminded of the quote “Nobody ever said it would be easy, they just promised it would be worth it.” Don’t ever give up on finding balance in your life or think that you can’t do it because you can.
