On the days I’m off I can’t wait to get my daughter in the morning. I love going into her room and seeing her standing up and smiling.
But there’s one particular moment that gets me. One particular moment that I wouldn’t trade for anything in the world. It’s the moment right after I feed her in the morning and she’s burped. She will gently rest her head on my shoulder and nestle herself in. She will only do this for a few minutes but it’s honestly the best part of my day.
It’s the best part of my day because in those quiet minutes I feel our bond, our connection. I feel the love between a mother and a daughter.
I don’t know how long I’ll continue to get these moments but I will never take them for granted. It’s truly something I look forward to every time I am home with her.
Sometimes I get so caught up in my to-do lists and all the things that I need to accomplish that I forget to live in the moment. I’m so focused on what’s next I don’t stay present. I’m learning that with my daughter because I don’t want to miss anything. I never want to look back wishing I spent more time with her and less time with tasks.
So…what’s the best part of your day? Let me know!
I’m off now to make the most of mine with this sweet little peanut!
